“Arquitectura para perros”, la nueva muestra que se estrenó en el Japan House London de Inglaterra

El Sumario – “Arquitectura para perros” es la nueva exhibición que tiene lugar en Japan House, en Londres, y consta en una colección especial desarrollada por diversos diseñadores y arquitectos de reconocimiento internacional. Esta muestra permanecerá en la ciudad inglesa desde el 19 de septiembre de 2020 hasta el 10 de enero de 2021.

Our highly anticipated exhibition ‘Architecture for Dogs’ is open! Japan House London is delighted to present a collection of architectural designs for dogs by 16 world-class architects and designers. To accompany the exhibition in our Gallery, which can be viewed up until 10 January, we will introduce one of the designs from the exhibition each week on our Social Media channels. We start with an example of architecture for mischievous, smaller dogs. The playful shelter ‘Mount Pug’ was designed by eminent Japanese architect Kuma Kengo, who created an imaginative nest and playground for the popular dog breed. The organic structure, made from pieces of plywood, is sturdy despite having being constructed without a single nail, and can be used by humans to entertain their canine friends in a multitude of ways. Aunque el ingreso a esta exposición artística es totalmente gratis, sí se deberán reservar las entradas para apreciar la muestra, la cual inició en la ciudad de Miami, Estados Unidos y desde entonces recorrió diferentes partes del mundo, siendo la primera vez que llega a Europa.

En la edición de este año, “Arquitectura para perros” cuenta con trabajos de artistas como Shigeru, Kuma Kengo, Itō Toyō, Sou Fujimoto, Atelier Bow-Wow y Ma Yansong, a los que se suma la obra de Asif Khan permitiendo establecer una conexión entre la exhibición y la arquitectura de la escena de Londres.

As part of celebrating Japan’s outstanding contribution to design and architecture, we will be shining a light on the works and careers of the Japanese architects and designers behind the exhibits in ‘Architecture for Dogs’. On Saturday, we introduced the first design from the exhibition – Kuma Kengo’s ‘Mount Pug’, a playful plywood structure build without any nails or glue. The designer, Kuma Kengo, is an award-winning and internally renowned Japanese architect, professor and founder of @kkaa_official. His office has designed architectural works in over 20 countries, including for the V&A in Dundee, 2018, and in São Paulo at Japan House in 2017. Constantly in search of new materials to replace concrete and steel, Kuma seeks a new, sustainable approach to architecture. His architectural piece, which is designed for pugs, is one of four exhibits recreated for our ‘Architecture for Dogs Roadshow’, touring some of London’s most popular dog-walking sites this autumn. The free event series will make its first stop on 27 September at Meanwhile Gardens, North Kensington, where dogs and their owners will be invited to interact with the pieces from the internationally acclaimed exhibition.
